Bars & Restaurants

Torquay offers visitors a great selection of pubs, bars and restuarants covering all cuisines and budgets! From Michelin star to simpler local fayre, the majority are no more than a 15 minute walk from the hotel. And if you're feeling full, the cab ride back will be around £4.50.

The Elephant Restaurant and Brasserie

The Elephant is a two storey fine dining restaurant with the more informal brasserie on the ground floor and the Michelin starred, The Room on the first. The Elephant was the first restaurant in Torquay to be awarded a Michelin star. Run by head chef, Simon Hulstone and his wife Katy, the restaurant overlooks the beautiful Torbay harbour. It offers a changing menu based around local and sustainable ingredients.

The Old Vienna Restaurant

Chef/Proprietor Werner Rott is well known in Torbay. In his cosy restuarant he'll tempt you with, as he describes it, artisan cuisine with the Austrian touch. He has been to yodel too if encouraged...

Orange Tree Restaurant

Husband and wife team Sharon and Bernd Wolf - the owners of The Orange Tree Restaurant have built a very loyal following amongst locals and visitors to Torquay and to Meadfoot bay. If offers fine dining in a more formal setting and a wine list to match.

Number 7 Fish Bistro

Immensely populat and rightly so, No.7 is a small family run bistro style restaurant providing fresh fish and shellfish either from local boats and markets or Scotland. Another firm favourite of our guests.

Amici Italian Restaurrant

A lively, trattoria style style restaurant which offers a wide range of typical Italian dishes including pizzas.

Bianco's Italian Restaurant

Bianco's is the sister restaurant of Amici's. More intimate, but still with a lively atmosphere, it too is very popular with locals and visitors alike.

The Kents

Nestled at the base of the leafy Wellswood area in Torquay, The Kents is a family friendly pub with a reputation for excellent food. It also has a very wide range of gins on offer. Forty plus the last time we tried to count...

A few doors down from the Kents in Wellswood High Street, Wellies is a bar resturant that hums on most nights, particularly those when it has live music on offer! Modern menu with many tapas style dishes on offer, so as good for light grazing as it is for an evening meal.
