The Agatha Christie Festival in Torquay is now in full swing with gorgeous September sunshine providing the perfect backdrop to what is becoming one of the UK's most prestigeous Crime Writing Festivals.

FOREIGN TRAVEL AND ITS INFLUENCE ON AGATHA’S WRITING - September 17 2014 - 11:00 am - 1:00 pm -Torquay Museum, 

Join John Curran in the Cosy Cafe to hear all about the Queen of Chrime’s travels around the world and how these travels influenced her writing. Following this informal chat there will be a tasty Cream Tea served! Cost is £5


AGATHA CHRISTIE’S POTENT PLANT TOUR - September 17 2014 - 11:00 am - 12:00 pm - Torre Abbey Gardens, Torquay 

Lead by head gardener Ali Marshall come and find out about the plants in the garden often used in Agatha Christie’s works. £7 entry fee.


LADIES AFTERNOON TEA - September 17 2014 - 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm -Torre Abbey, Torquay

Miss Ivy Events will be entertaining all ladies with a Vintage Ladies Afternoon Tea at Torre Abbey. There will be an Agatha Christie workshop with Miss Turnstiles as well as live music, cream tea, photo booth and a beauty parlour. £7 entry.

Join Ann Cleeves and Helen Pepper as they explore how crime writers get their forensic details spot on.

AGATHA CHRISTIE – LITERARY DAUGHTER OF SOUTH DEVON - September 18th 2014 - 11:00 am - 1:00 pm - Torquay Museum, 

John Risdon will be talking about Agatha Christie’s childhood in Torquay, and the influences of Devon on her literary career. £5 entry.

Meet head gardener Ali Marshall and come and find out about the plants in the garden often used in Agatha Christie’s works. The Garden Tea Party will have a 1930’s theme with tea and cake served on the lawn, music even servants to look after you.
