Rugby World Cup 2015

Posted on January 11th 2015 by

The Rugby World Cup 2015 is coming to England and is going to be a fantastic event hosted across the country including matches held in the South West in Exeter.

Preparations are being made across the country especially in the host cities as they start to ready themselves for the huge numbers of people expected to visit the UK for this worldwide prestigious event. To see the brand new TV add for the Rugby World Cup 2015 see the VisitEngland website.

The South West and Devon will be strongly represented by Exeter and Plymouth. Exeter is not only an official host city for the Rugby World Cup 2015 but also welcomes the Tonga National Team who will use Exeter as their Team Base. Plymouth will welcome Nambia to the South West as their Team Base.

There will be a large influx of not only foreign travellers and sports fans making their way to Exeter and Plymouth but also UK residents making their way up and down the country to try and catch a glimpse of some of the Rugby worlds most talented and famous teams and players. With some visitors travelling many miles to come to the UK it is expected that many will take this fantastic opportunity to visit more of the surrounding beautiful countryside. One of the towns that could be prove a popular base to access Exeter especially is the famous neighbouring seaside town of Torquay which has been voted the top seaside resort in the UK by TripAdvisor in their Travellers’ Choice Awards. This was a trend shown when the UK successfully hosted the Summer Olympics and Paralympics in 2012. With limited availability in both Exeter and Plymouth it is advisable to take a look at the neighbouring towns such as Torquay which have some fantastic hotels to choose from and is only a short 22 mile drive to Exeter.

Here is a list of matches being held at Sandy Park in Exeter, the home of the Exeter Chiefs.
