Day Trip To Brixham

Posted on May 9th 2016 by

Brixham has truly undergone a phenominal change in recent times and after hearing such glowing reviews from not only friends, family and our extended family (our guests at the hotel) I thought it was time to return to Brixham for a look around.

After a busy Bank Holiday weekend in the hotel it was the perfect time to head down to Torquay harbour and catch the ferry to Brixham. If the weather plays it part it is truly the best way to get to Brixham with a return ticket costing just £3.00. That was no typo - £3.00 return is all it costs. When you compare this to the cost of petrol or getting a bus this represents phenominal value. The ferry is called the Western Lady and for more information check out their website. I was really impressed not only with the crew but the ferry was really comfortable and had great access for all passengers. I was so lucky to have blue sky gorgeous day and it was so peaceful cruising across taking in all the beautiful scenery that our Bay has to offer. It took roughly 30 minutes to get across and you dock literally in Brixham harbour which is very convenient.

With check ins arriving that same day I didn't have as much time as I would have liked however the time I did get to spend in Brixham was fantastic. The transformation Brixham has undertaken is truly amazing with a chic coffee culture, lots of independent restaurants and eateries, gorgeous gardens and everything wonderfully maintained. Although we had a gorgeous day everyone was smiling wherever I went and was made to feel very welcome as I walked through the town.

A day out across to Brixham from Torquay is highly recommended to anyone visiting the area.
