Dining out

Apart from our very own award winning Brasserie at the Bay, we've got some great restaurants just a stroll away including the Michelin starred Elephant and No.7 Fish (no prizes for guessing their speciality). Back down at Meadfoot Beach there's the more modest, but equally enjoyable Meadfoot Cafe with one of the best views in town and a great place to while away a sunny afternoon.

There are also more treats in store further afield if you have a car. If you're staying for longer than a couple of days we really do recommend you explore a little more. The effort is really well worth it!

Torquay

THE ELEPHANT

Holder of a Michelin star for sixteen years, the Elephant is the only restaurant to hold such an accolade. Obviously great cooking from chef Simon Hulstone, with whom our very own chef Callum Tasker worked with for six years.

CARY ARMS

A pub/restaurant (with rooms attached) in a fabulous setting on the bay with far reaching views up the coast. Beware though. It is located down a very steep road with blind hairpin bends so only for the adventurous driver. Better still take a cab. Or even better still it can be reached via the South West Coastal Path

FURTHER AFIELD

THE SEAHORSE - DARTMOUTH

A past winner of the Observer Best Restaurant of the Year, sitting on the harbour front in Dartmouth, just steps from the lower ferry landing, lies the Seahorse. As the name suggests, the menu has a seafood bias and its cuisine shows a strong Italian influence

THE ANGEL - DARTMOUTH

A restaurant that has seen many ups and downs in its history including a period of ownership by the mercurial Michelin Starred Chef John Burton-Race. Most recently in 2018 Masterchef: The Professionals Finalist Elly Wentworth joined as Head Chef.

LYMPSTONE MANOR - EXMOUTH

Two Michelin stars tells you that dining here will be no ordinary experience and BBC Great British Menu star, Chef Michael Caines will not disappoint. Nor will its hillside setting overlooking the Exe estuary. A must for a special summer evening

CRAB SHACK - TEIGNMOUTH
