"We live locally and this Brasserie at The Bay is our favourite restaurant. The service is superb and the food is just wonderful with dishes that really make the most of Devon's fabulous local produce. While I would like to encourage everybody to try it for themselves, the selfish part of me is worried that I won't be able to get a table next time I want to visit - which will be very soon!"

Autumn tasting MENU
1 october onwards

Join us for a journey through our autumn menu. A celebration of West Country produce cooked with loving care by our dedicated team headed up Chef Callum Tasker.


(Please note reservations for the tasting menu must be made by phone in advance and that all members of your party must dine from the tasting menu. It is however possible for you to enjoy dining off our different tasting menu e.g. vegetarian at the same time)

Please note in evening sittings we have a minimum age of 14 for children in the restaurant

Last of the summer vine (v,ve,gf)

Slow roasted heritage tomatoes, thyme & tomato jelly, olive oil snow, tomato cracker, black olive tapenade

Vega Badenes Tempranillo / Spain 125ml

a blend of Tempranillo, Merlot & Syrah, the aromas are bright and fruity, the palate soft, with

light unobtrusive tannins. It lasts well in the finish and leaves a pleasant, fruity aftertaste.


Smoked wood pigeon (gf)

Vanilla and blackberry gel, pickled blackberries, apple & toasted pistachio

Holmes Point Pinot Noir 2018 / New Zealand 125ml

powerful and jammy with refreshing acidity the palate is redolent of raspberries,

strawberries, cherries, watermelon and blackberries laced with vanilla.


Butter basted fillet of halibut (gf)

Vanilla scented Jerusalem artichoke puree, glazed baby leeks, toasted hazelnut crumble, truffled wine fume

Domaine De Luc Chardonnay (Organic) France 125ml

The nose is lightly toasted revealing aromas of cinnamon. On the palate the wine is balanced, bold & full-bodied with notes of white flowers and citrus.


Free range Devon roasted breast of chicken (gf)

Smoked confit chicken and sweet corn ragout, chicken pop corn, glazed oyster mushroom, split tarragon jus

Domaine Dupré Mâcon-Villages / France 125ml

very fresh, with citrus and white flowers on the nose. Light on the

palate with plenty of ripe apple flavours & fresh acidity.


Selection of West Country cheeses

paired with Devon honeycomb, Muscat of Alexandria grapes, hazelnut fig toasts

Krohn LBV 2015 / Portugal 50ml

deep ruby colour with spicy black fruit aromas. The palate has vibrant

plum & blackberry characters layered with spice, fresh acidity & firm tannins



Autumn apple iced parfait

Calvados and apple compote, apple crisp, candied pecans

Trevibban Mill Apple Dessert Wine / Cornwall 50ml

fresh, crisp Granny Smith apple nose with an explosion of sweet orchard fruits on the palate. Apple crumble in a bottle
